Chartreuse is one of my favorite quaffs…but it’s not psychedelic! At least no more so than any adult beverage imbibed in sufficient quantity. Enjoy it for its potency and its herbal complexity.
nice… didn’t know about this one. seems similar in spirit to benedictine. got to love age-old 80 proof monastic remedies for all that ails. we’ll have to sample some time

Wormwood cask aged? Anyone who can build a cask out of wormwood that can hold liquid for more than 5 minutes is a master cooper indeed. The Grand Wormwood of Absinthe fame is not a tree but a low growing shrub with small twigs. It may be used in the secret Chartreuse recipes but it won’t make a barrel bigger than a coke can.
